A New Position

I have been in IT for about seven years. During that time, I have managed to obtain quite a few certifications that complement my MS degree in technology and information systems. So when I found out my company was creating a new position which would be a heck of a promotion, I obviously got excited about the prospect.

The company has been conducting interviews for several weeks. As far as I know, I am the only person from within the organization that applied. I have a suspicion that one other person from here may have applied, but when I asked him he said he had not. A few days ago I had my third interview, which is always a good sign, and I think I did really well. The only thing going against me this whole time is that they are requiring a CISSP certification that I don’t have yet.

Today I got the good news that I will be getting the newly formed position. The only thing pending is my completion of a CISSP exam prep course that can teach me how to pass the CISSP. I am so stoked about this because it really takes my career to the next level.
