Jersey Barriers

Jersey barriers are an effective method of crowd control. They are great for directing traffic through a construction area. You can also use them as a barrier to protect vehicles, building materials, buildings, and people. If you work in a construction area, you may need to deny people access into unsafe areas. You can even use jersey barriers to control water flow and flooding.
When choosing jersey barriers, determine what length you need. If you purchase longer barriers, you will have to buy a smaller number. However, longer barriers are more cumbersome and will require more people to move them. The height of the barrier is also an important consideration. If you are restricting access to unsafe areas, higher barriers are more difficult to climb over. If you are using your barriers to direct traffic, shorter barriers will not interfere with driver visibility. If your intention is for the barriers to be seen from overhead, the shortest height will probably meet your needs.
The barriers need to be filled with sand or water. A jersey barrier filled with sand will weigh almost twice as much as water filled ones. Sand is also more difficult to get rid of and may cause problems with drains and sewers. Barriers filled with water are easier to move. Water is easy to obtain and can be easily drained from the barriers.
