The Bigger Picture of Profits

Every business is trying to save money right now. Businesses that never shopped around before for low prices on services and products are suddenly doing tons of comparison shopping. However, a lot of them are going about it all wrong.

Many businesses make the mistake of looking at business expenses as though they are the same as consumer expenses. The problem is that they’re not the same at all. A business expense has to take profits into consideration when doing price comparisons.

For example, let’s say that you want to get your website re-designed. You’re looking at a Tampa website design company and a web company in Orlando. The web company in Orlando is slightly less expensive. If this was just a general consumer purchase then you would choose the Orlando company since it is cheaper. However, since you’re a business, you need to think about your profits.

If the Tampa web designer offers a much higher quality web design then you’ll probably profit more off of that investment than you would off of using the Orlando company. This means that you actually save more money (by making more money) when you use the more expensive company. Always look at the bigger picture of profits when doing comparison shopping for your business.
