The Internet is where I get almost all of my information when planning to travel. I book my reservations, find things to do and locate maps for getting around all through the Internet. I can’t even really remember what I used to do to find travel information before the web was such an easy-to-access tool.

My sister is the opposite of me as far as this goes. She was recently planning a trip to Banff and she didn’t use the Internet to get any information. I was baffled as to how she could find things to do in Banff and make plans to do them without access to a computer but she just laughed at me and said she’d figure out what to do when she got there. She says that I miss out on the adventures of travel since I don’t plan in advance.

I suppose that my sister has some valid points but I still like using the Internet to do travel research. I feel like it has the most up-to-date information about things to do and places to see. I guess that I like making plans in advance of a trip so that I feel like I’m a little bit in control of what’s going to happen. My sister loves to let go of that control which is why on-site planning works for her.
