Keep A Lid on Negative Publicity

There is a correlation between the cost of doing business with your company and what you have to lose if your reputation online is tainted. Cost can be measured in terms of time, money, or emotional investment required. If your industry is one where you have a few customers that comprise a large percentage of your income, you can ill afford negative publicity to dominate the search results for your brand name. Investing in online reputation management would be wise before a problem presents itself in the search results. You have much more at stake than a company who sells low cost items to the masses. Although significant losses can be had by both types of organizations the marginal value of one customer is far greater for one type than the other.
