Online Medical Advice

I don’t know about you but the first thing that I do when I start to get sick is to jump on the Internet to see what I can do about it. First I go to a symptom-checker site to figure out what’s wrong with me. Then I look online for natural cures for the problem. I even use the Internet to search for information about more serious problems that may come into my life such as issues with co-dependency or drug addiction.
But is the Internet a good place for this type of information? What I’ve decided is that the Internet is a great starting point for information but it shouldn’t be the end of your search when it comes to medical issues.
What it is great for is getting a start in the right direction. For example, you may go online to learn about drug addiction. You decide that you have this problem and need some help. You search online to find Florida drug rehab centers or alcohol treatment centers in Florida. You read reviews that help you to identify the best Florida drug treatment programs.
But then you have to go offline to the actual places to see if they’re a good fit and to get your treatment. The Internet put you in the right place but it wasn’t what solved your medical problems.
