For Successful Online Marketing, Plan Ahead
Posted by InternetMAP on 05/31/09 in Marketing
Planning ahead is the best way to ensure that your online marketing campaigns are successful. For example, if you are going to write and distribute a press release about a new product or service — for instance, a Cal Flame line of products or outdoor sink installation – don’t wait until the product or service has already been made available before getting started on the press release!
My husband’s family has owned and operated a small cleaning business since the mid 1980s. Lately his parents and brother moved to be closer to us, and they are thinking about restarting the business here. When my husband and I were talking about it today, I recommended getting the website and all the other marketing they plan on doing planned and ready BEFORE they launch the new business. It’s better than having a half-done website up on the Internet, and “grand opening” type of marketing works better if you haven’t already been open for a month.
I also advise planning ahead because as a writer, I know what a pain it is when clients contact me, frantic because they just launched something and don’t have a press release for it yet. Always needing something done yesterday is not a good way to retain your writer! Furthermore, not only will you be more likely to succeed by planning out your marketing in advance, you will also save money, as many writers charge rush fees for last-minute work.

Whenever I learn of a new business and they advertise a website, I always visit the website first. And whenever I see an under construction notice or an obvious unfinished job, I don’t bother. And most of the time, I forget to update my bookmarks and check the business.
This post is a good reminder to always overprepare before launching a new business. It reflects good on you as well as getting more business that way.
Great post!

Yes, websites are always a good idea and should never be rushed! People depend on online connectivity more and more now.
Good luck!

Websites and email addresses are always a must! Whenever I get a flyer or see an ad, I always scan it for a website or email. Because most of the time, I’m too much in a hurry to read all details.

I really hate it when people rush me to get their orders finished just because they failed to plan ahead.

It’s always good to hire marketing consultants before launching a product. This is especially helpful for new businesses. But a lot of businesses cannot afford it also. That’s why it’s always good to ask around for suggestions.
Thanks for the info!
