Whether you’re married, dating or just good friends, one of the best ways to stand out from the crowd at a costume party is going as a pair. Some of the most popular couples’ costumes on the market today are based on the famous – and infamous – couples from history and popular culture. Some are real, others are entirely fictional but they’re all good fun.
Famous couples from Hollywood are among the most popular for couples’ costumes during the Halloween season. Common couple’s costumes are usually easy to put together, but often require specialized elements that ordinary people don’t typically have in their closets. Popular Halloween costumes for couples include Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Lily and Herman Munster, as well as a host of super heroes, iconic characters like pirates and gangsters, and even character couples from films like Grease.
If you’re going out to a costume party as a pair of girls or guys, consider period adult costumes like gangsters, cowboys (or girls), clowns or cartoon heroes like Thelma and Daphne from the Scooby Doo show or superheroes like Batman and Robin. Costumes for couples can be a lot of fun, particularly if you’re willing to be creative – go as Tracy and Hepburn, using clothes from a thrift store or hunt down your ideal outside-the-box pairing, like a plug and socket combo from a costume shop. The possibilities are limitless for costumed couples this season.
