Using Investments to Support the Arts
Posted by iMautopilot on 02/22/08 in Society
One of the best things about our society today is that a wide range of people are interested in supporting the arts. Changes in technology and the knowledge industry have led to the creation of a significant number of jobs that deal directly with creative activities. Even those people who aren’t working specifically in artistic fields often find ways to use their work to give back to the creative world around them.
Take, for example, Arthur Trueger. This is a man who works as the chairman of an international venture capital firm. His days are spent making important transactions in the business and financial worlds. However, this work also exposes him to a diverse group of people which has certainly assisted him in developing his appreciation for various cultural arts.
Arthur Trueger uses the money that he earns from his business work to support creative endeavors including the San Francisco Ballet and the Asian Art Museum. His devotion to arts such as these shows appreciation for them while his financial commitment to them allows artists to further develop their work. Of course, Arthur Trueger is just one example of the modern type of businessman who works hard during the day but uses his money to support and enjoy creative experiences by night.
