My husband is an avid hunter and enjoys hunting for deer. While the image of him hunting Bambi brings tears to the eyes of our children, he presents it as a sport that uses cunning and sportsmanship. When he packs his truck in preparation for a weekend adventure, I am always amazed at the accessories required to bring home a four legged creature.

After packing the shot gun and bullets, my husband packs 2 way radios so he and his brother can scout out the area and talk to each other from positions yards away. He includes accessories for the 2 way radio to troubleshoot in case the radios stop working and they lose communication. The radio serves as a safety devise so multiple hunters are aware of the positions of humans in the area. Using squadcom series headsets, which look like military helmets, they communicate with one another and other members of their hunting party to scout the area and take up positions around the hunting location.

The hobby of hunting is serious for outdoor enthusiasts and sport hunters alike. At the end of a weekend, my husband and his brother bring home a doe eyed deer and show off their prize to anyone who will look at it. The kids and I usually try to stay inside while the hunters prepare their prize.
