While I don’t confess to being a huge technology buff, I do have more than a passing interest in gadgets, electronics and various devices. While visiting some older friends recently, I was blown away by the new hearing aids they had recently acquired.

These things were so incredibly small that I simply couldn’t conceptualize what sort of batteries they required. Well as my friend showed me, they were itty bitty little dots of batteries. For the rest of the visit, I joked that his hearing aid used double quadruple A batteries.

It was all in good fun, as I would never create negative vibes for my friends. In fact, being around them was so much more fun now that everything which was spoken only had to be uttered once. Maybe twice if it was me looking for dramatic inflection.

I feel rather fortunate that it appears I have pretty strong hearing capabilities. If at some point in the future, however I found the need to employ hearing aids, I would be most ready for the experience. Just being able to go to the drugstore and ask the clerk for the absolute smallest batteries they had in the store would provide me with tons of fun.
