As soon as the first snow starts to fall, my friends start talking about going skiing in Canada. Inevitably, everyone can agree on where to go and when to go but they can never agree on the best method of traveling to get there. Some want to fly, some want to bus and some want to take the train.

The whole group has a tradition of doing at least one banff ski vacation each year which has made it possible to easily pick the destination for where to ski in Canada. You would think that the ritual of it would make it so that everyone would know how they wanted to get there as well but that’s not the case. Everyone still debates which methods are best in terms of both cost and convenience.

I usually just end up flying there because I’m the one that’s the furthest distance away so the decision is pretty easy for me. The others always debate whether they’re going to do a rocky mountaineer vacation on a train or take the canada coach tours on the bus instead. To tell the truth, I’m always a little jealous of both the train and bus people because they see more of Canada than I do on these trips!
